Interaction points

Jive Analytics defines an interaction point by using the type of interaction in which two members are engaged. The department interactions chart trends around how different users engage with each other. This chart details interaction dynamics for the community.

Department-to-department interactions include any interaction between two users, for example:
  • User A views Document written by User B
  • User A comments on Document written by User B
  • User A likes a document written by User B

Notice how A interacts with B in these examples. This is known as directionality. Interactions are also assigned the notion of strength. For example, a comment is a more meaningful interaction than a view.
